Children & Youth in Worship
Children and youth particpate worship in a variety of ways, frequently involved as greeters, ushers, acolytes, and worship assistants. The youngest among them is welcome to spend time in the nursery with a loving care provider.
Offers children and youth a place of their own, providing Christian oriented books and materials to help inspire, comfort and affirm their faith.
Prince of Peace recognizes the important roles youth have in the church as disciples and leaders. POP seeks to offer a safe, welcoming place for worship, study, fellowship, witness, service and fun. “In your face” experiences to serve Christ through mission and outreach are offered and the home is affirmed as the first teachers.
Gathering's 2021 Theme Announced
"BOUNDLESS: GOD BEYOND MEASURE" is the theme for the 2021 ELCA Youth Gathering to be held June 29-July 3 in inneapolis, Minnesota. The primary Scripture is Ephesians 3:19 CEV: “I want you to know all about Christ’s love, although it is too wonderful to be measured."
ABOUT THE GATHERING: Every three years, 30,000 high school youth and their adult leaders from across the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America gather for a week of faith formation. Through days spent in interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service and fellowship, young people grow in faith and are challenged and inspired to live their faith in their daily lives. The 2021 Gathering is set for June 29-July 3 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
