with ELCA Presiding Bishop Mark S. Hanson

You’re invited to attend a one-hour live webcast with Bishop Hanson and ELCA members from across the country.

Finance Team will meet this evening at 6:00.

Confirmation Mentors will meet this evening at 6:30 with the teaching team.

Adult Choir rehearsal this evening at 7:00.

TRANSITION TEAM tomorrow evening at 5:30.

Labor Day Holiday the church office will be closed on Monday.

Confirmation classes begin next Wednesday evening at 6:30.

Staff Meeting next week only on Thursday morning at 11:30.

Sunday, September 12 will be Fall Ministry Kickoff Day at Prince of Peace. Sunday School classes begin that morning. There will be a new Adult Sunday School offering by yours truly entitled: Spiritual Maturity: Preserving Congregational Health and Balance. Part of our worship services will be dedicated to a Confirmation Covenant in support of this year's confirmands and their families. It will be great day in the life of Prince of Peace, don't miss it!

POTLUCK dinner at noon is part of the festivities--and by POTLUCK we mean that we all participate in preparation of the meal. Sign-ups have been light so far--we will be far hungrier than what has been committed! ! There is a signup sheet on the table in the narthex, please put your name in the appropriate column and come, join the party!

DISCIPLES Classes are also beginning next week. Please sign-up on the appropriate sheet in the narthex so that materials can be on hand for all participants.

Sunday's readings are Deuteronomy 30:15-20; Psalm 1; Philemon 1-21; and Luke 14:25-33. The theme is Following Means Losing.
